Regulations Amending the Staturory Instruments Regulations
The proposed amendments to the Statutory Instruments Regulations are consequential to the repeal of section 13 of the Statutory Instruments Act which relieved PWGSC from its obligation to deliver and sell a paper copy of the Canada Gazette. This Government’s greening initiative is part of its Sustainable Development Strategy.
This proposal deletes references in the Regulations to print copy of the Canada Gazette.
Enabling authority: par. 20(h) of the Statutory Instruments Act
There are no expected business impacts.
On April 13, 2012, an announcement was posted on the Canada Gazette Web site advising of the Budget 2012 decision to transition the publication of the Canada Gazette from traditional print to exclusively electronic publication.
