Essential Qualifications

  • Completion of first year of a Bachelor of Law Degree program at a recognized university. (Please note: Proof of law degree must be provided at time of appointment)
  • Note: Only applicants with a "C" or above in all law school courses will be considered.
  • General knowledge of the Department of Justice.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate and research legal problems.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and use a word processing application.
  • Effective Interpersonal Skills.
  • Dependability.
  • Motivation.
  • Self-confidence, professionalism.
  • Adaptability.
  • Sound judgment.

Official Language Proficiency

Various language requirements:

  • English Essential
  • Bilingual Imperative (English/French).

Conditions of Employment

  • Secret security clearance.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work overtime, including after-hours and weekends.
  • All conditions of employment must be met and maintained by candidates throughout their tenure in the position.
