REPRÉSENTATION DES NOMBRES.)
Numbers 10 and up
are expressed in figures; numbers under 10 are written out. This applies to
cardinal and ordinal numbers.
There are three exceptions to this rule:
- at the beginning of a sentence, numbers are always written
out;
- when a number is used with a unit of measure or proportion
represented by a symbol or abbreviation (e.g., $, %, kg, m), figures are always
used; and
- when there is a series of numbers, one of which is 10 or more,
figures are always used.
