Although I have not been at the Department of Justice for long, it has been a rewarding time. My main duty is to provide strategic communications advice and support to the Youth Justice and Strategic Initiatives Policy team. I am responsible for a range of services such as advising on emerging issues and trends in the media that may impact policy and program development; developing and implementing communications strategies and plans; coordinating publications and Web site materials; providing media analysis and monitoring services; supporting special events and exhibits, and participating in outreach activities; and responding to general public enquiries.
I have the privilege of being located with my clients in a satellite office at Barrister House on Elgin – which ensures that I get regular exercise from frequently having to walk to Justice Headquarters.
