Type of service
Support Recalculation Services
The Administrative Recalculation Office opened in September 2003. This office conducts the administrative recalculation of child support in cases where the original order or agreement contains a clause providing for the automatic administrative recalculation of child support annually and where the discretion of the court is not required. This allows the parties to update child support based on their incomes without going back to court. The Department of Justice Canada and Public Safety entered into an agreement on August 10, 2006, which authorizes the Recalculation Officer to recalculate child support ordered under Divorce Act cases.
