Services offered
Parenting After Separation (PAS) is a six hour seminar offering information to parents about the separation and divorce process, the effects of separation and divorce on children, techniques for communication when parenting apart and legal information that affects parents and children. PAS is available for all Albertans either in person or online. PAS teaches parents the importance of working together to meet children’s health, social, educational and emotional needs. The program encourages parents to attend mediation and to consider other dispute resolution options. A certificate of completion is provided to participants.

  • Promoting Children’s Coping and Resilience
  • Developing a Parenting Plan

How to access this service
You may contact the program yourself, your lawyer, a mediator, or the Court can refer you. Participation is mandatory:

  • in Court of Queen’s Bench family law matters under Practice Note 1 or when directed by a Court of Queen’s Bench Justice
  • in Provincial Court family law matters when ordered by a Judge
