Inventory of Government-Based Family Justice Services
Family Law Mediation Program
Type of service
The Family Law Mediation program uses a roster of trained mediators to offer family law mediation services both in person and by teleconference. The program is free (up to 9 hours per case) for parents who need to resolve legal issues concerning how their children will be cared for. These are usually things like child support, where the children are going to live and visitation. Mediation provides an effective, less costly and less adversarial alternative to court in helping families resolve their disputes and begin moving forward with their lives.
