Parent Education Program (New Brunswick)
Type of service
Enforcement of Parenting Arrangements
New Brunswick offers a free information program for parents living separately, called For the Sake of the Children. It is designed to assist parents to understand what they are going through, both legally and emotionally and to help them cope with and adjust to the separation so that they can help their children adjust. The program teaches ways to reduce the conflict between parents, and relieve the stress that they may be experiencing during their separation or divorce. While the service is aimed primarily at parents, the program welcomes others who wish to participate including grandparents and new partners.
Trained professionals knowledgeable in separation and divorce issues facilitate the information sessions through the use of DVD’s, discussions and printed take home materials. Participants receive a certificate of completion.
