Countries with which Provinces and Territories Have Reciprocal Enforcement Arrangements

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Many of the reciprocal arrangements for the enforcement of support orders with the United States were made by Canadian provinces and territories on a state by state basis.  Consequently, the number of arrangements that each province or territory has established is different. 

Recent changes to American law have made it possible for Canadian provinces and territories to negotiate directly with the American federal government to establish a single reciprocity arrangement that will apply in all American states and territories. The following provinces and territories have entered into this federal arrangement:

• New Brunswick
• Newfoundland & Labrador
• Northwest Territories
• Nova Scotia
• Nunavut
• Ontario
• Saskatchewan
• Yukon
