What does the Family Orders and Agreements Enforcement Assistance (FOAEA) do?
This unit helps to enforce family obligations set out in a court order or agreement. It receives applications made under the Family Orders and Agreements Enforcement Assistance Act (FOAEAA) to:
- find people who have failed to comply with their family obligations;
- garnishee federal payments to family support payers so the money can be used to pay the support that is owed; and
- suspend passports and certain federal licences of persons who are persistently behind in support payments.

What does the Garnishment, Attachment and Pension Diversion Registry do?
The Garnishment, Attachment and Pension Diversion Registry in FLAS is one of several registries that process garnishment applications under Part I of the Garnishment, Attachment and Pension Diversion Act. Each registry serves a different part of Canada. Creditors with an order from a court and a garnishee summons can apply to the appropriate registry to garnishee wages or contract fees payable by the federal government to the debtor.
