Esketemc delivers a holistic, culturally and community appropriate service, coordinated across various Federal and Provincial jurisdictions and community agencies to meet the needs of the Esketemc community. A protocol for Intervention of Historical Abuse and Violence, Protocol for Fish & Wildlife Offences, and a Protocol for Complaints Against RCMP provides a framework for the community to intervene into crimes in partnership with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Federal Fisheries, Provincial Conservation Officers, Ministry of Attorney General and the Department of Justice. The Fish & Wildlife Protocol provides an opportunity to deliver a coordinated enforcement strategy between officers. Goals are to facilitate resolution of crimes, healing, recovery and prevention. Majority incidences are dealt with through traditional Healing Circles. Esketemc ceremony provides a non-judgmental, safe environment for resolution of cases. An inter-agency Justice committee monitors a community living contract. Alternatives developed provide an opportunity for networking and partnerships.
