Purpose: The mission of Métis Family and Community Justice Services Inc. (MFCJS) is to promote, strengthen and empower the Métis Nation and their communities by supporting the cultural and spiritual needs of Métis people and by helping to develop family-centered social and justice services. MFCJS services are designed to be holistic and to take into consideration each individual’s spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual needs. MFCJS develops and supports community capacity (including training and human resource development), and works towards building partnerships with other community agencies to further community justice goals and objectives. The program provides pre- and post-charge alternative measures services for both youth and adults. With the support of Community Justice Committees, the program is also engaged in developmental activity including community justice education workshops, public education, community-based crime prevention, and corrections and victims services.
