The Hollow Water First Nation has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Hollow Water Community Holistic Circle Healing Program (CHCHP).
The Hollow Water Community Holistic Circle Healing Program (CHCHP) is designed to prevent, intervene in and heal the inter-generational effects of sexual abuse and domestic violence. The program delivers diversion and alternative measures, community sentencing, and healing circles. Within those processes, the program offers counselling of parties and their extended families, support groups, oversight of court-ordered assessments, and traditional healing therapy. The CHCHP serves an Ojibway community of about 600 people located east of Lake Winnipeg, 200 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
