The Tahltan Health and Social Services Authority has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Ku We gahn Justice Program (KWGJP).
The overall goals of the program are to repair the harm done by the offender and increase the sense of social justice for the victim, families and others in the community. The Ku We gahn Justice Program operates pre- and post-charge diversion programs. The primary model used is family group conferencing in a traditional circle format. The KWGJP serves four First Nation communities with a population of over 1,600.
