Purpose: The objective of the project is to provide accurate information and increase awareness on the impact of Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (first constitutional clause that guarantees minority education language rights) on the lives of the French speaking community of Saskatchewan. The AJEFS will document the history of Section 23 and of education in French from a cultural, political, social and demographic perspective. It will document the interpretation of Section 23 by tribunals, the law of 1995 on education rights, on the rights of admission and management ,and will address perceived myths and realties. The AJEFS will also produce a simple leaflet with the highlights of the report and distribute the information through social medias.
