Purpose: The Courtworker and Counselling Association of British Columbia has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Renewing our Response: Building Collaborative Measures Project. The objective of this Project is to build upon existing collaboration measures between Aboriginal Justice Workers and Native Courtworkers throughout British Columbia to positively impact accessibility for both groups' clients to coordinated justice support. This will be accomplished by planning and implementing best practices for collaborative efforts, and create opportunities for Aboriginal Justice Workers and Native Courtworkers to share pertinent information. This project will serve Aboriginal communities throughout British Columbia: Vancouver, Surrey, Chilliwack, Abbotsford, North Vancouver, Kamloops, Penticton, Williams Lake, Vernon, Cranbrook, Nanaimo, Victoria, Port Alberni, Campbell River, Port Hardy, Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Duncan, Prince George, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Prince Rupert, Smithers, and Terrace.
