Purpose: This project aims to strengthen the coordination capacity of the National Youth Justice Network. A network coordinator position will be created and staffed, whose responsibilities will involve building relationships with local youth justice networks, developing information sharing forums such as a website, and organizing Network teleconferences and meetings for members to discuss current youth justice issues, to build opportunities for national collaboration and to share knowledge regarding best practices. The National Youth Justice Network is comprised of representatives from multiple provinces and territories across the country working to increase the sharing of best, promising and innovative practices, to support government and community service provider collaboration to deliver effective services, and to support the best interests of youth in the system while ensuring community safety. The National Youth Justice Network plans to host monthly teleconference calls and annual in-person meetings while also promoting knowledge and information sharing on their website.
