Figure 2 above is a broken-line graph showing the number of adults charged with drug offences, by type of offence, in Manitoba from 1977 to 1998. The X axis shows the year; the Y axis shows the number of adults charged, in increments of 200, from 0 to 2,000. There are two broken lines: one (dark blue) showing the number of adults charged with drug possession; and one (pink) showing the number of adults charged with de drug trafficking, importing and growing.
The results show that the number of adults charged with drug possession has a downward trend until 1993 and then stabilizes until 1998. Overall, it remains between 584 and 1,710 from 1977 to 1998.
The number of adults charged with drug trafficking, importing and growing remains relatively stable from 1977 to 1998, ranging from 246 to 664.
