Description

This figure is a broken-line graph showing the actual (1977-1998) and projected (1999-2003) number of adults charged with drug offences in Saskatchewan. The number of adults charged was 2,627 in 1977 (the maximum reached during the period studied), then it decreases until 1979, before increasing again to 2,568 in 1981. This number drops drastically until 1991, when it reaches 763 cases, the lowest for this period. The number of drug cases increases through the 1990s, to reach 1,285 in 1998. The 1999-2003 projection also shows an upward trend, and the number of adults charged with drug offences should surpass 1,500 cases as of 2003.
