Screening Questions

An important part of your online application process will be to answer ‘Screening Questions’. There is one question for each experience criterion as listed on the job advertisement.

When you complete the screening questions, you will be asked to select yes or no. Then you will be asked to include additional information to demonstrate your experience. Please remember to:

Application Review

When the job advertisement has closed, we will review all submitted applications and evaluate the experience criteria. The answers you provide to the ‘Screening Questions’ are used as the primary source for this purpose. Your CV is used as a secondary source.

If you are found to meet all of the experience criteria, you will be ‘Screened In’. If you are found not to meet one or more of the experience criteria, you will be ‘Screened Out’.

We will contact all candidates by email to notify you of your results. If you are Screened Out, you will no longer be a part of the process. If you are Screened In, information about the next evaluation steps will be communicated to you.

Assessment

We are still developing the assessment strategy for this job process, but we anticipate it will comprise a formal interview and manager reference validation.

Development of pool

After the assessment is completed, we will notify all candidates of their results.

Unfortunately, if you do not successfully demonstrate one or more criteria during the assessment, you will be eliminated from the process.

Candidates who successfully demonstrate all the criteria will be placed in a qualified pool. This pool can be accessed by Department of Justice hiring managers across the country for their positions. You may be invited to participate in Second Language Evaluation (SLE) testing in order to determine whether you can be referred for bilingual opportunities. Otherwise, you will be referred for unilingual or bilingual non-imperative opportunities.
