Figure 3.4: Judges' Perceptions of Whether the New Provisions May Render the Trial Unfair to the Accused
Figure 3.4 is a vertical bar chart which illustrates judges' perceptions of whether the new provisions may render the trial unfair to the accused. The Y axis represents the proportion of respondents, which is measured in percentages in increments of 20 from 0 to 100. The X axis is divided by three categories, from left to right: total sample, provincial court and superior court, which are further divided by two sub-categories, from left to right: yes and no.
- 22.6% of the total sample believed that new provisions may render the trial unfair to the accused versus 77.4% who do not think that new provisions may render the trial unfair to the accused.
- 28.6% of provincial court judges believed that new provisions may render the trial unfair to the accused versus 71.4% who do not think that new provisions may render the trial unfair to the accused.
- 10.0% of superior court judges believe that new provisions may render the trial unfair to the accused versus 90.0% who do not think that new provisions may render the trial unfair to the accused.
