Purpose:

The Carcross/Tagish First Nation has entered into a community-based contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Carcross/Tagish First Nation Justice Committee (CTFNJC).
The overall goals of the CTFNJC are to provide support and alternative options to the criminal justice system to community members, particularly members of First Nations, in conflict with the law.
Program objectives include the provision of support and services to community members involved in the justice system, the promotion of the use of community alternatives to Court, and the promotion of community education for prevention of family violence.
