Purpose:

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Restorative Community Justice Program. The project objectives for the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake are:
- To continue to educate and promote restorative justice as a means to bring about a positive change in relationships;
- To maintain present services offered by Sken:nen A'onsonton which includes mediation, family group conferencing and case management;
- To share a common vision with local collaborators and resources (police, social services, MCK) and maintain healthy relations with professionals participating in the justice system; and
- To begin training to expand and prepare for the future needs of the community.
