Purpose:

The Miawpukek Mi'kamawey First Nation has a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Miawpukek First Nation Justice Committee. The Justice Committee strengthens the capacity of local people for management of justice issues; promotes community building in relation to justice issues; and, identifies, develops and employs traditional Mi'kmaq approaches to justice and community building, such as healing circles.
