Purpose:

The Cree Regional Authority (CRA) has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice to manage the Cree Justice Committees. The program objectives for the CRA are as follows: to establish Cree Justice Committees in communities such as Nemaska, Waswanipi Chisasibi, Wemindji, Nemaska and Eastmain; to continue to support existing Justice Committees in Whapmagoostui Mistissini and Waskaganish; and to provide training to key members of these communities to form effective Justice Committees to carry out community-based justice programs.
