Purpose:

The Heiltsuk Tribal Council has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice to manage the Heiltsuk Gvi'ilas Community Justice Program.
The Heiltsuk Gvi'ilas Community Justice Program provides reintegration protocols and programs mainly to the community of Bella Bella, as well as Denny Island, Ocean Falls, and all members of the Heiltsuk Nation when needed.
The program objectives are to restore community wellness and balance by supporting and promoting the principles of restorative justice. The program works with various organizations to accomplish these objectives by engaging victims, as well as youth and adult offenders and their families, in the administration of justice and the resolution process.
