Purpose:

The Kwanlin Dun First Nation has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Kwanlin Dun Community Social Justice Program.
The program has four objectives: to promote awareness and understanding of behaviours and actions that can cause and prevent crime; to assist the community in resolving its own disputes; to empower the community to assume greater responsibility for its justice issues; and to support the community in its healing after it has been harmed.
The program accomplishes these goals by operating a pre- and post-charge diversion program with an emphasis on reintegration and prevention programs. Efforts are also being made to provide information to community members about the program through meetings.
