Purpose:

The Mistawasis First Nation has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Mistawasis Community Justice Program.
The objectives of the program are to deliver community justice services designed to enhance and nurture mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well being of self, family, community and Nation.
An advisory committee provides guidance to Community Justice Program staff to develop and implement the community justice plan which focuses on public education, crime prevention, victim services, corrections services and alternative measures programming for youth and adults. The program is also working to expand after-care programs for those who have been affected by crime.
