The Liard First Nation has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Dena Keh Justice Program.
The program's overall goals are to help the Liard First Nation to re-establish healthy communities and achieve the full potential of all its citizens through healing, education and employment opportunities.
The program provides sentencing advice and delivers a pre- and post-charge diversion program to 650 Kaska and members of other First Nations living in Watson Lake, and provides assistance to another justice program serving the 200 Kaska living in the Lower Post, British Columbia.
