Purpose:

The Southern Chief's Organization (SCO) has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the First Nations Justice Strategy Program.
SCO proposes to execute a justice strategy by utilizing Community Justice Workers and Restorative/Elder/Community Justice Committees. The organization seeks to provide constituents with an alternative discourse and experience of justice than is currently being offered. SCO comprises thirty-six First Nation Communities, with a total population of 71,133 (both on- and off-reserve).
