Purpose:

The Miawpukek Mi'kamawey First Nation has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Miawpukek First Nation Justice Committee. The Justice Committee strengthens the capacity of local people for the management of justice issues; promotes community building in relation to justice issues; and, identifies, develops and employs traditional Mi'kmaq approaches to justice and community building, such as healing circles.
