Purpose:

The Recipient proposes to develop and provide culturally relevant illicit substance addiction treatment to Somali youth within the criminal justice system. Addiction trained Somali staff will provide positive cultural role models, encourage membership in Somali and broader community activities, and facilitate positive peer relationships. The proposed culturally sensitive drug addiction treatment program will include integration/reintegration into school support, employment programs, family support, refugee trauma counselling, and meaningful cultural and recreational activities.
