Purpose:

The Recipient proposes a comprehensive reintegration program for youth with cognitive capacity issues involved in the criminal justice system. The program, entitled LifePlan and Coaching Program, will support youth with cognitive incapacities such as FASD, mental health and/or substance abuse issues, through the creation of an individualized plan tailored specifically for the youth, focusing on individual goals related to education and training; employment and career; health and fitness/recreation; and community contribution and connection. The Recipient also proposes that the program have a group dynamics portion which uses tools and strategies such as guest speakers and role models, workshops, fitness and recreational activities and participation in community service projects.
