Purpose:

The Miawpukek Mi'kamawey Mawi'omi First Nation has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Miawpukek Healing and Sentencing Circle Program. The Program strengthens the capacity of local people for the management of justice issues; promotes community building in relation to justice issues; and, identifies, develops and employs traditional Mi'kmaq approaches to justice and community building.
