Purpose:

The Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to support the role of a Justice Coordinator to work with Treaty 8 First Nations for the development and implementation of a Restorative Justice Sentencing/Peacekeeping Circles program.
The Program objectives and activities will include the distribution of a survey to identify a community(s) and a model for the program. A two (2) day Justice meeting will be undertaken to review recommendations from the survey and implement a Restorative Justice program in Treaty 8 First Nations.
