The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP), in collaboration with the Coalition on Community Safety, Health and Well-being, is organizing a national conference on family violence to be held in Toronto in March 2011.
The theme of the proposed conference is "A Dialogue on Family Violence in Culturally Diverse Communities: Practical Approaches to Prevention and Response," and will address new and emerging manifestations of family violence identified by police, social sectors and communities themselves. The target audience of 200-250 participants will include representatives from justice, public health, education, immigration, victim services, culturally-diverse communities and all levels of government.
