The Conseil des Atikamekw d'Opitciwan has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Comité de justice sociale d'Opitciwan. Through its Comité de justice sociale, the Conseil des Atikamekw d'Opitciwan offers diversion/alternative measures programs, mediation and sentencing advice to courts. The programs are available to both youths and adults in the Opitciwan community.
