Purpose:

This project will allow the Elsipogtog Justice Advisory Committee (EJAC) to provide support and preparation services to victims of crime for appearances at provincial court, Aboriginal court and restorative justice processes such as healing and sentencing circles. The EJAC will assist victims of the reserve and band members from small surrounding communities, during the pre-trial, trial and post trial stages; refer victims to appropriate service providers and agencies, facilitating safety measures for victims-at-risk; support immediate family members of victims of crime and raise public awareness of the impact of victimization.
