Purpose:

The Recipient proposes to establish a youth advisory group which will be made up of youth who have been involved with the justice system who are involved in, or at risk of involvement in, gangs; undertake focus groups with youth serving agencies to understand the problems they are facing; and support the youth advisory committee in finding solutions to these problems. The Recipient will then research and test the resources and ideas developed and recommend appropriate modifications to resources to keep content relevant and useful to the youth serving agencies. In addition, the advisory committee will develop practical tools and resources that can be used by youth serving agencies to enhance their current services as well as publicize new services that can be put into place. These tools and resources will provide new ways of working with these youth.
