Purpose:

The goal of this project is to provide culturally appropriate resources that address the complex issue of child sexual abuse. This multifaceted awareness project is built around: producing two DVD sets entitled "The Hidden Face" (the first addresses the impacts of sexual abuse on children and the second examines adult survivors of child sexual abuse); producing two guidebooks specific to each DVD; developing a four-day training workshop manual to assist front-line workers; implementing a communications strategy (involving television and radio public service announcements, posters, Internet social networking, high profile spokespersons, school outreach and community events); and conducting an evaluation to assess the success of the project products.
