Purpose:

The Mi'kmaw Legal Support Network has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage and deliver a research project on Mi'kmaq justice concepts that provide insight into a traditional system of governance that both mediates and adjudicates its own internal conflicts in accordance to Mi'kmaq cultural and traditional values. This research will provide a foundation to bridge Aboriginal issues with the conventional criminal justice system to help resolve Aboriginal disputes.
