Purpose:

Dene Tha' First Nation has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to plan and deliver three one-week cultural camps for youth at risk and young offenders. The camps will have a justice focus with the primary objective of providing the youth of this isolated community with the opportunity to determine, through culture and teachings, what can be done to bridge the gap between the mainstream justice system and Dene cultural values.
This project will also assist in creating awareness of justice issues and challenges, as well as, promote the overall objectives of the Aboriginal Justice Strategy.
