Purpose:

The organization will hold a national consultation on the needs of Inuit women who are victimized. This consultation will take place in Ottawa, Ontario, on February 23, 2011. In order to inform the consultation, the organization will conduct an environmental scan to assess the services available pertaining to Inuit women who are victims of crime. These activities will provide better support for this demographic by helping to identify the needs and priorities of Inuit women victim of crime. It will also raise awareness about their rights, identify gaps in services available to this group and assist in getting a clearer understanding of the issue of missing and murdered Inuit women.
