Purpose:

The organization will package and distribute 500 copies of the "Commit to Kids" program kits to small organizations across Canada in the spring of 2011. Up to 500 small organizations employing 1-2 staff or volunteers will be evaluated for their understanding of child sexual abuse and any existing child protection policies prior to the distribution of the kits. The Commit to Kids kit is a tool that helps children-serving organizations to be educated on the issue of child sexual abuse, implement policies for child sexual abuse prevention, and establish procedures for incidents of misconduct or child sexual abuse. It provides strategies, policies, and a step-by-step plan for reducing the risk of child sexual abuse.
