The organization will hold a national conference on October 13-14, 2011 in Montreal on the changes of Canadian law with respect to the threat of terrorism. The conference will focus on the practice of law of anti-terrorism, focusing on such issues as: intelligence-gathering sharing, the development of criminal and administrative law on anti-terrorism; due process in the adjudication of terrorism cases; oversight and review of security services; and, international and comparative legal developments in anti-terrorism. Key questions to be addressed are whether Canadian law has successfully preserved fundamental rights and values of substantive and procedural justice while at the same time contributing to anti-terrorism.
