Purpose:
|
Law student volunteers with the Legal Help Centre of Winnipeg will provide assistance to self-represented individuals who want to enter guilty pleas to qualifying offences. The law student volunteers will explain to clients (who do not qualify for legal aid and cannot afford a lawyer) the legal process, possible outcomes and consequences of entering their plea and will present sentencing submissions on behalf of the client to the court.
