Purpose:

The Manitoba Metis Federation Inc. has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage and deliver the Thompson Community Justice Program.
The Program focuses on increasing the capacity of the Aboriginal community within Thompson Manitoba to deal with justice at a community level. The goal of the Program is to reduce the number of individuals who are involved in the criminal justice system by using local culture and values in a community justice approach. The program will support court diversions of individuals from the court system to a community-based alternative that works in partnership with the mainstream justice system.
