Purpose:

The Awasis Agency of Northern Manitoba has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to operate the Meenoostahtan Minisiwin First Nations Family Justice Program.
The objective of the Program is to provide an alternative system to the mainstream social services and justice system for several communities in northern Manitoba. This is accomplished through the delivery of a community-based, culturally specific family mediation process using family mediators, who bring together family, Elders, community members and service providers.
