The Sandy Bay Community Resource Centre Inc. has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Sandy Bay Community Justice Program.
The vision of the Program is to implement and deliver community justice services designed to enhance and nurture mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well being. Using this holistic approach, a positive identity can be restored or realized for current and future generations.
The Program will develop and implement a community-based justice plan that focuses upon identified priorities such as public education, crime and recidivism prevention. As well, the Program will handle adult alternative measures and youth extrajudicial sanction referrals using victim/offender mediation, peer mediation, family group conferencing, healing/sentencing circles and reintegration circles.
