Purpose:

The recipient proposes to establish a satellite program for Peacebuilders' award-winning Restorative Youth Circles Program (RYCP) which currently runs out of Toronto's main youth court. Establishing a satellite program will facilitate the participation of many youth who are often unable to attend given long, 2-3 hour commutes for the weekly sessions. Local community volunteers in the Jane-Finch area will be recruited and trained, then matched to youth. This will enhance the existing RYCP by providing previously unavailable local community support and mentorship to local youth.
